Obituary

Darrell Andrew Wilcox passed away peacefully at home in Wichita, KS with his wife by his side on February 9, 2025.  Darrell was born March 1, 1943 in Ashland, KS to Joseph and Grace (Klotz) Wilcox.  He graduated from Englewood High School in 1961.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1961-1965 then settled in Wichita, KS.  He worked most of his life as an experimental mechanic for Beechcraft/Raytheon.

Darrell married Dee Stuart February 24, 1987 and they lived in Park City, KS more than 30 years.  Darrell and Dee traveled the nation, Canada, and Denmark.

He was on the Park City Park Board and was a 20-year-member and officer of Park City Community Pride.  Darrell was Uncle Sam in the Fourth of July parade for several years and was instrumental in establishing live programming on Channel 7.

He loved technology, photography, and studying ancestry.  Darrell traveled to every county in Kansas photographing courthouses, as well as his grandchildren's sporting events and weddings.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Dee Stuart; children Leonna Greenfeather, Darren (Casey) Wilcox, Jennifer Acevedo; step children Jennifer (Brian) Cox, Shelley (Marlin) Stotts, Matt (Jennie) Hunn; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; siblings Brenda (Clifford) Deal, Linda Simmons.  He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jason Schmidt; siblings, Wallace Wilcox, Richard Wilcox, Joetta Wilcox, Donetta Joachims.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 22 at 11 a.m. at the Park City Senior Center, 6100 N Hydraulic Ave, Park City, KS.  Memorials to Park City Community Pride and Cheney Golden Age Home.
