Darrel Linn Young Jr., 70, of Wichita, KS, passed away Monday, March 30, 2026 at his home. He was born November 17, 1955 in El Dorado, KS, the son of Darrel and Goldie (Arb) Young.

Darrel was a truck driver in Wichita for over 30 years, 28 of them at Nabisco.  He was a member of Westridge Community Church where he volunteered to drive for the Family Promise Program.

He married Delanie Deidre Young (Dickson) on June 3rd, 2006. He enjoyed playing guitar and going to concerts. He loved driving in the country and going to old towns for dinner with Delanie. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren with his whole heart. He enjoyed playing golf with friends. He loved the Lord and his church and he was a great friend to everyone.

He was preceded in death by his father Darrel Linn Young, and brother Timothy Young. Dog Chubbles, Cats Jack and Jasmine.

Survivors include his wife Delanie Young (Dickson), Mother Goldie Young (Arb), daughter Kimberly Coleman of Wichita, daughter Bethany Cannon (Sean) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Son Jeremy Young (Erica) of Wichita, Siblings Jared Young (Nita) of Wichita, Donna Young of Buckfield, Maine, Winifred Miskiewicz of Wichita, Grandchildren Cameron, Caleb (Dayla), Christian, Daniel, Addison, Madison, Jacob and Alexis. Cats Mr. Grey, Buster Kitty and Rusty.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Westridge Community Church 7315 W 13th St N, Wichita, KS 67212. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery 6231 W 47th St S, Wichita, KS 67215. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Family Promise of Greater Wichita 1111 St Francis, Wichita, KS 67214 in his name.
