Darletha Arlene Moore, 86, of Wichita, Ks passed away Wednesday, Dec 13th at her home surrounded by her daughters. She was born April 28, 1937, in LaCrosse, Ks, the daughter of Joseph & Bertha Moore. Darletha attended LaCrosse High School where she was head cheerleader, participated in musicals, choir, and worked as a carhop at the family-owned Honey Dew Drive-In.

While attending high school she met and later married her first husband Richard Gordon of McCracken, Ks. They married on June 20th , 1954. Darletha & Richard had 3 children: Glen Emern, Gregory Alan, and Crystal Ann. During their marriage, they lived at the Gordon farm, later moving to LaCrosse and Dodge City, Ks. Darletha worked on her sister, Josephine's farm, took in ironing and worked for the ASC Office.
Her position at the ASC Office brought her to Hutchinson, Ks, where she met and later married Jack Spratlen on April 10th , 1964. Darletha & Jack had 2 daughters: Jacque Coleen and Julie Lynn. During their marriage, Jack's position with the National Guard took them to Wichita, Ks, Fort Carson, Co., and back to Wichita, where Darletha settled for the rest of her years.

Darletha worked hard all her life. She worked in the banking field as a mortgage loan officer, part time waitressing and in the diesel fleet industry managing trip records, fuel taxes, and expenditures. Darletha retired in 1996 from Ryder Truck Rental. Darletha was a fun loving, independent woman. Music always played a major role in her life from singing at school growing up to performing with the Boeing Stratosingers to singing with her church choir. Her love of music led her to a love for dancing; she loved all types of dancing but especially square dancing. She loved to spend time with friends on her bowling league. Darletha was a devout Christian and longtime member of Asbury Church. She loved sports and could be heard cheering for her beloved Chiefs. More than anything, Darletha loved her family. It brought her great joy to attend band and music concerts, baseball, football and soccer games, gymnastics, or scouting events. Her family always counted on hearing her joyous "Woo-Woo" cheer no matter the event. She enjoyed sewing and was always willing to make costumes or mend items. She was always there to help her children and grandchildren any way she could.

Survivors include daughters Crystal Burrell (Ken) of Oxford, Ks, Jacque Clark (Tim "Smitty") of Wichita, Ks, and Julie Bullard (Mike) of Wichita, Ks; sister Karen Been (Bob) of Bentonville, Ar; grandchildren: Nikki Brown, Jason Tanner, Tonya Gordon, Bo Clark, Tabitha Pethel, Lance Gordon, Shane Smith, Levi Gordon, Craig Bullard, Tasha Gordon, and Breanna Bullard; 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great- grandchildren. Darletha was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Bertha Moore, sisters Josephine Clayton and Ramona Brozek, brother Warren Moore; sons Glen Gordon and Gregory Gordon; grandson Jesse Clark and numerous other family and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, December 20th , 2023, at Asbury Church, 2801 W. 15 th St. N., Wichita, graveside services will follow at Greenwood Cemetery 6231 W. 47 th St. S., Wichita. A luncheon will follow at Haysville Community Building, 130 E. 2 nd St., Haysville.
