Daniel Harvey Dayhuff was born on April 30, 1952, in Wichita, Kansas, and passed away on September 17, 2026, in Goddard, Kansas. He was 74 years old.
Dan attended and graduated from Goddard High School in 1970. He married his high school sweetheart, Pam Hughes, two years later, in 1972. He had a tremendous love for airplanes and obtained his pilot's license at the age of 16. He spent the majority of his life in aviation, working on small aircraft with the Cessna Employees Flying Club and Textron Aviation Inc. before retiring in 2013. He always enjoyed all types of music.
Throughout his adult life, he also loved boating, playing golf, watching sports, and being the grill master.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Leta Raye and Harold Curtiss Dayhuff, and his sister, Pamela A. Morava. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pam; his daughter, Julie Nelson (Woody); and his son, Clint Dayhuff (Annie). He was always so proud of his grandchildren, Sydney, Aidan, Lyla, Cruze, Charley, Spencer, Eric, and Brenna. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other friends and relatives.
A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 US-54 W, Wichita, KS 67209. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
