Cindy Princ, a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and dedicated healthcare professional, passed away peacefully at the age of 71 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Cindy devoted her life to the service of others, embarking on a long and impactful career in nursing and hospital administration.
She grew up on a family farm near Woodbine, Kansas and graduated from Abilene High School in 1970. She met her future husband, Mark J. Prince in the fall of 1971 while attending nursing school at Fort Hays State University where she graduated as an RN in 1974.
Cindy began her career as a Registered Nurse and quickly made her mark as a compassionate and skilled caregiver. Shortly after his return to Kansas from his service and discharge from the US Army in Korea, Cindy and Mark were married on November 22, 1974 in Abilene, Kansas.
Cindy's dedication and leadership abilities led her to further her education, first becoming an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner after studying at Wichita State University in the early 1980s. Secondly, she obtained an MBA from Baker University in 2002. In the 1990s, she transitioned into hospital administration, where she continued to make significant contributions. As an administrator, Cindy worked for several years as the Emergency Department Director at Via Christi in Wichita, Kansas, before travelling from coast to coast to work as an Interim Director at several emergency departments, including in Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, San Antonio, St. Louis, and Modesto, California.
In addition to her nursing career, Cindy enjoyed being a Sunday school class leader at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Wichita, Kansas.
Cindy is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 50 years, Mark Princ; her loving daughter, Diane Prince, son-in-law, Seth McCall, grandson, Henry McCall and numerous family and friends.
Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Woodbine Cemetery in Woodbine, Kansas.
