Cynthia Joyce Kimble

Cynthia Joyce Kimble, born June 16, 1949, passed away surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer on March 24, 2026. She fought with strength and determination until the very end, leaving behind a loving family and a lifetime of memories that will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Cynthia was the beloved daughter of Carolyn Joyce Carter and Randy Carter. She was born in Wichita, Kansas, and spent most of her childhood in London, Ohio. She attended Wichita West High School and earned her cosmetology license from Vernon’s Kansas School of Cosmetology.

Cynthia was a talented cosmetician and took great pride in owning and operating The Right Place, a career she loved until her retirement. Her creativity and artistic spirit could be seen not only in her work, but in so many aspects of her life.

She had a special love for animals, especially cats. Cynthia often opened her heart and home to cats in need, rescuing and caring for many throughout her life. She also had a natural gift for gardening and truly had a green thumb. She found joy in creating beautiful things, nurturing her plants, and caring for the animals she loved so dearly.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Carolyn and Randy Carter, and her nephew, Joshua Gleason.

She is survived by her sister, Janie Gleason-Osterhout; her daughter, Kris Tina Denison (Dan); and her son, Kenneth Kimble. She was a proud grandmother to Madison Bertram, Kaden Idleman, Katelin Gray, Aiyona Kimble, and Joshua Kimble. She is also survived by her nieces, Shawna Steadman (Brandon) and Emily Stewart (Michael).

Cynthia will be remembered for her creativity, her compassion for animals, her love of nature, and the unique spirit she brought into the lives of those around her. She gave so much of herself to the people and animals she cared for, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.

Cynthia’s family will host a Celebration of Life on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Wichita Area Builders Association, located at 730 N. Main Street, Wichita, Kansas. Friends and family are warmly invited to attend, gather, and share memories of Cynthia in her honor. It will be a time to celebrate her life, remember the love and joy she brought to others, and honor the beautiful person she was.

Rest peacefully, Cynthia. Your fight is over, but your love, creativity, and memory will live on forever.
