Craig Neal Thomas Shandler

January 7, 1952 - April 30, 2024

Born to Mary and Neal Shandler.  Graduated high school in 1970.  Received his BA from UIMKC and on to his MBA from Rockhurst University. Was married to Kay Krause in 1979, was later divorced.  Moved to Emporia, KS in 1988 to start his own franchise.

His working years were spent in the fast-food industry, from starting on the front lines to owning his own franchises. He later retired.  Was an active member in numerous community organizations and animal lover.  He had a very close relationship to is brother Joe, who passed in October 2023.

Moved to Wichita in 2018, and then married Nancy Daigle in 2019.  Craig and Nancy spent their time together traveling and living life to the fullest.  He was a proud father and grandfather, especially loved spoiling his grandkids Tagen and Ellexia.  Beer Fridays meant cold beer and close friends.

Survived by his wife Nancy, children Jason Shandler, Michelle Dugan,  and Nicole (Geoff) Makin, and grandchildren  Tagen and Ellexia.  He was proceed in death by father Neil, mother Mary, brother Joe, Sister Kathy, Sister Sherry, son-in-law Chris Gustafson, and beloved dogs Maddie and Max.

Services will be held at Unity of Wichita (2160 N Oliver Wichita, KS 67208) on Saturday, May 11th at 11 am.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Park Association or Wichita Human Society.  A Beer Friday in Emporia will be celebrated at a later time.
