Connie Sue Martinez- 58 of Wichita Ka. Gained her heavenly wings December 28th 2024.  She was born in Wichita KS, December 14th 1966 at Wesley Hospital, the daughter of John  and Lendle (Lowery) Knighten.

Connie graduated from Wichita Area Technical College in 1990. She later earned a  degree in Graphic design.

She started her career in the service industry, ending up at the Veterans Hospital in  Wichita as the General Manager for the gift shop. She loved helping people and serving her  community. That love for people brought her to work for Sharon Baptist as a daycare  provider later in life. She ended her career as a caregiver, starting with her mother, and then  for her sister. She found strength and motivation in caring for others, she took great pride in  bringing dignity to the lives of those in need of care.

She married Henry J. Martinez on December 16th 1996. He preceded her in death  February 6th, 2018. They are rejoicing together again. She was also preceded in death by her  parents John W. and Lendle M. Knighten of Wichita; Sister Joanne Pugh; brother Eddie  Knighten; and Brothers The Knighten baby's.

She is survived by her daughter Nicole (Phillip) Carbone; Nicholas (Jasmine)  Martinez; sisters Shonna Otero; Lynda Benninger; Kitty Courtright; Teresa Aguilar all of  Wichita, Ks; Amey Knighten of Haysville Ks; Jackie Yarborough of Scranton, Ar; Brother Billy  Knighten of Wichita, Ks. Grandchildren PJ, Nehven, Sonnie, Niko Carbone; Apollo Martinez  all of Wichita Ks. One Great-Grandchild due in May. As well as a host of nieces, Nephews  and cousins she cherished fondly.

Her Services and Viewing will be held Thursday January 9th at Sharon Baptist  Church in 2221 S Oliver St. Wichita KS. 67218.

The viewing will be at 12:30 PM with services following at 2:00 PM.
