Clark William Lemons III "Billy" 78, born February 15,1948 in Wichita, KS. Freedom from his Earthly shackles March 2, 2026. Oldest son of Clark William Lemons JR and Ruth Jolley. Through the years Billy had several jobs, painting,  motivational speaking, online auctions, cleaning,  organizing and reselling. His greatest job was holding down the fort. He decided in later years that it was most important to help his family at home. Caring for his love Gayle and daughter Denna.

You could always count on there to be a TV, radio or phone tuned to a sporting event. If it was Sunday, he and Gayle would be watching the Chiefs game and sizing up the red zone for the other teams.

Billy has a degree in psychology from Wichita State University. He had a love of speaking in schools to warn kids of the dangers of drugs and that one bad decision can destroy your entire life. He was very proud to serve his country as a Marine.

After moving to Olathe, KS, he and Gayle spent a lot of their free time traveling to a Wichita to have fun with the grand babies.

He is preceded in death by his parents, the love of his life Gayle Hook, granddaughter Gracie Ann Cogburn, sisters Jane Fletcher and June North. He is survived by daughters Crystal & Tyson Cogburn, Denna Hook & Duane Kemppainin, Natalie Lemons and Nicole Lemons, brother Donnie Lemons and sisters Cheryl Leitzel and Kim Lemons

Funeral service will be Friday, March 13, 2026 at 1pm at the Veterans cemetery, 1208 N. College St, Winfield KS. All are welcome to join the family for lunch following the service at Shindigs Bar and Grill, 500 Main St, Winfield KS.
