Cindy Denise Windwalker-Taylor

Cindy Denise Windwalker-Taylor, 62, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025, in her hometown, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 30, 1962, in Wichita, Cindy dedicated her life to helping others and nurturing the people and places she loved most.

A devoted wife, mother, sister, and counselor, Cindy was known for her compassion, strength, and unwavering commitment to those in need. She spent much of her career working as a drug and alcohol counselor, first focusing on teens and later helping adults reclaim their lives. Her work touched countless individuals and families, offering hope and healing in difficult times.

Outside of her professional life, Cindy found great joy in the outdoors. Her yard and garden were the pride of the neighborhood—vibrant, meticulously cared for, and full of life, much like Cindy herself. Friends and family often joked that she could grow anything and keep it spotless too; her love of order and cleanliness was just one more way she showed care and pride in everything she did.

Cindy was the beloved wife of Sherwin Windwalker-Taylor, whom she married in 2005. She was the proud mother of four surviving children: Darrell White, Erika White, Nathaniel White, and Clarissa Culver. She was preceded in death by her son, Christian Culver, whom she carried forever in her heart. Cindy is also survived by her dear sister, Tracy, and a close-knit circle of extended family and friends who will deeply miss her warmth, humor, and fierce love.

In accordance with her wishes, Cindy will be cremated. A private memorial will be held for immediate family.

Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit continues to bloom in every flower she planted and every life she helped grow. She was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
