Ephesians 14-16

That is why I kneel before the Father from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name; and I pray that he will bestow on you gifts in keeping with the riches of his glory. May strengthen you inwardly through the working of his Spirit.

Book of the Prophet Isaiah

No longer shall the sun be your light by day.  Nor the brightness of the moon shine.

Upon you at night; The LORD shall be your light forever, your God will be your glory.

No longer shall your sun go down, or your moon withdraw; for the LORD will be your life forever, and your days of mourning shall be at an end.

St Paul to the Romans Chapter 14

No one lives for oneself, and no one dies for oneself.

For if we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord; so then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord"s.

For this is why Christ died and came to life, that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

Gospel Reading   John 6:51-58

Jesus said to the crowds, "I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world." The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us this Flesh to eat?" Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen I say to you, unless you eat the Flesh of the Son of Man and drink his Blood, you do not have life within you.  Whoever eats my Flesh and drinks my Blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my Flesh is true food, and my Blood is true drink. Whoever eats my Flesh and drinks my Blood remains   in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me.  This is the bread that came down from heaven.  Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.
