Carla Annette Hensley of Wichita, KS passed away Thursday, April 3rd in her home and in the presence of family. She was born January 5th, 1947, in Marlow, OK, the daughter of James Clarence and Alpha McKinney.

Carla was one of the first female onsite insurance adjusters in the state of Kansas. She also worked as an administrative assistant for what was formerly the Wichita Area Technical College's airport campus. Carla had an artistic flare and enjoyed designing and curating in every aspect of her environment and experience.

Carla married William Arthur Hensley III in July of 1975, he preceded in death on December 20th, 2014 after 39 years of marriage. Carla was also preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Alpha McKinney; sister, Carolyn Clark; son, William Arthur Hensley IV; and daughter, Mary Paige Hensley.

Survivors include daughter, Emily Everitt of Lawrence, KS; son-in-law, Christopher Everitt of Lawrence, KS; sister, Claudia Green of Wichita; her children and their spouses, Jennifer Green Miracle, Kent Miracle, Erin Green, Sandy Lamia, and Gregory Green of Wichita.

A private family service will be conducted at a later date. Internment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, of Lawrence, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Harry Hynes Hospice of Wichita in Carla's name.
