Obituary

Bonnie Lynn Birkle of Wichita KS passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026 surrounded by family. She was born January 12, 1943 in Guymon OK,  the daughter of Leslie Gloden Jr. and Ruth (Beer) Gloden.

Bonnie attended Guymon High School afterwards she went to Cosmetology school in Wichita KS, from there she eventually opened her own business called Coiffures by Bonnie.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church for most of her life, and for several years attended Calvery United Methodist Church where she attended Sunday school and volunteered as the church gardener.

Bonnie loved fishing, especially her favorite genre, Catfish! She excelled at gardening; you would know it by seeing how beautiful she kept her home and church landscapes!

Shortly after high school she married her best friend, Everette (Dan) Birkle, he preceded in death on August 17, 1991, after 31 years of marriage. She was also preceded in Death by her parents, Leslie Wayne Gloden Jr. and Ruth June Gloden, her daughter Sandy (Birkle) Soles.

Survivors include her daughter Kerri (Birkle) Shirley, Son Dan Birkle, siblings are Gary Gloden, Bobby Gloden, Leslie Ann Sipes, and her legacy of 9 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild!

Visitation will be held at Baker Funeral Home on Monday, February 23, 2026 from 5 - 7 pm.  A lunch for family and friends will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church on Tuesday, February 24 with the Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 pm.  Interment will be at Kechi Cemetery - Kechi, KS directly after the funeral service.
