Billy Leon Landrum, 67 years old Wichita, KS resident, went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2020. Billy was born in Vinita, OK to Dorothy (Hardrick) and Joseph A. Landrum. Bill was above all things, a musician who loved sharing his gifts with others. Bill's voice and bass playing have blessed many who have had the opportunity to play with or listen to him through the years. Bill taught himself to play bass and later shared how to play by ear with his students at the School of Rock. He credited his singing ability with early experiences in church and to the encouragement of his mother. A graduate of North High in Wichita, he also studied Sociology and Music at Wichita State University. Wichita fans will remember him playing with Lotus, the Pat McJimsey Band, Square One, Tin Ear…too many bands to list, as well as numerous fundraisers and benefits.

In addition to his vocation as a musician Bill also worked at Wichita Public Schools, IBM Systems, Semperian, GMAC Financial Services, and Jewelry Savers in Wichita.

Bill is survived by his siblings: Chris (Karen) Landrum of Jacksonville, FL, and Vanessa Arrington of Chicago, IL. Aunt Betty Goree of Bartlesville, OK. Nieces and nephews: Brittney, Bryton, and Caley Landrum and Derek Arrington. Former wife Sharon (Manuel) Jaso, and step-children Laurel Kangethe and Zachariah Edwards. Bill is also survived by numerous friends who have been his family for many years.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Crown Uptown. The doors will be open to come and go from 5:30-7:30, and friends will have the opportunity to share memories during this time.
