Beverly Rae (Barstow) Baker, 76, of Andover, KS passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024 at her home surrounded by family. She was born January 26, 1948 in Pratt, KS, the daughter of Richard and Rae Barstow.

Beverly was a 1966 graduate of Greensburg High School and graduated from Wesley School of Nursing in 1969. She also held an Associates Degree in Nursing Education from Wichita State University. She married Jerry Baker - the love of her life - on May 30, 1970, and enjoyed 54 beautiful and blessed years together.

As a wife, mother, grandmother and nurse, she spent a lifetime caring for others abundantly. Even though dementia had robbed her of her memories in recent years, her sweet spirit and desire to give of herself in service to others remained. Never one to be idle, Bev loved to travel and camp, mow and work in her flowerbeds, attend WSU basketball and baseball games, volunteer at her church and fellowship with the ladies of Bright Morning Star. But above all, her greatest joy was being Grandma to her two grandsons and cheering them on at all of their football and baseball games.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Rae Barstow. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Baker; daughter Mindy (Jason) Kiser; grandsons Kier and Will Kiser; all of Andover, KS; sister, Janet (Max) Ary of Weatherford, OK; relatives and many friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 10 am at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, 1600 W. 27th St. N., Wichita, KS, 67204. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church and Alzheimer's Association, 535 W. Douglas, Ste. 150, Wichita, KS 67213.
