Bert Howard Dykes, 79 passed away on October 21, 2025.  Bert was born on May 29, 1946 in Leonardtown, Maryland to T. Belmont and Velma Mary (Howard) Dykes.  He graduated from Augusta High School in 1964.

Bert married Teresa Lynn Plummer in 1970.   Their son, Jared Lane Dykes was born on January 26, 1978.

Bert worked in the aircraft industry from 1965 - 1972.  He completed his 31 year career working at refineries, before he became disabled from a car accident.

He was one of Jehovah's witnesses and was active in the door to door preaching work.  His two greatest loves were his son Jared and Jehovah God.  He was eager to tell as many people as he could about the good news of God's Kingdom and the restoration of the soon to be paradise earth.

Bert is preceded in death by his parents- T. Bellmont and Velma Dykes; a half sister- Mariebelle Ruth Greer Brownlee; an infant sister Rita; and a brother- Gary Russell Dykes.

Bert is survived by his son, Jared Dykes; sister, Ann Brown; niece Paula (Curtis) Catlett all of Augusta, KS; great-niece Kyla (Randy) Willson and their son Carsen Leroy all of El Dorado, KS;   He is also survived by numerous spiritual brothers and sisters in the world wide congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Bert played basketball in high school and enjoyed basketball and football as an adult.  He never missed an invitation to play cards or a game of pitch with his Christian friends.

No services are scheduled at this time.  The family requests no flowers be sent as a memoriam.
