Ben Zapata Jr. 76, of Park City KS passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Wesley Hospital surrounded by his caring family. He was born May 17th, 1948, Douglas, Wyoming, the son of Loraine Maria Orosco and Benito Zapata.

He was the fourth child of his parents and was preceded by his sister Cecilia Zapata Huff, parents and survived by his brother Emilio Zapata and Sister Elisa Durrant.

Ben was known for his large laughter and love for old cars and trucks and restoration of them. He was an avid Harley motorcyclist and enjoyed traveling the world taking in the wonders of the world. Ben was devoted to his family members and spent time with them as much as possible. He served in the Vietnam war and loved his country and held the valor of his commitment to his country well. Ben was an electrician by trade and worked for Airplane manufacturing companies while living in KS. He was an avid outdoorsman. He hunted and fished in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska and Florida with his previous brother-in-law Ronald Huff.

He is survived by his niece Jo Marie Huff Futch, her husband Brian and their six children Grant, Alina, Maritza Cecilia, Ashliegh, Courtney who absolutely adored him. Bertie (Niece)and Tony Russel. Travis(nephew) and Dawn Huff. Brenda Lopez (Daughter) and Cisco Lopez (Daughter) and seven grandchildren. Josie Lyn Marie Davis the apple of his eye (Granddaughter) Hailey Danielle Marie Davis (Stepdaughter) and her sister Kasey Stephens who was one of his sidekicks. And grand dog Turbo.  His other nieces and nephews are Sylvia Perigo and Tom Perigo and Renee Wales and John Cervantes. Angelia Zapata Hicks, Brian Hicks, Elena Zapata Castelanno daughters Lex, Gabbie, Chloe. Grand Daughter Corina Zapata and her child.

Andre's Barden-Zapata, grandson, has carved out a life for himself in Oklahoma and is now is a valued member of Law enforcement for Choctaw Nation. He's persevered thru training and thanks to the strong Zapata blood. From to the loving support of his grandfather Ben, mother Kristin, father Michael and his two sister's Kelsey and Kylie.
