Barbara Lynn Potter, 82, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Sunday, March 8th at her home surrounded by family.  She was born January 15th, 1944, the daughter of Samuel and Helen (Evans) Boothe.  Barbara graduated from Southeast High School and attended Wichita State University for Accounting.  For over 35 years, Barbara worked as an Oil and Gas Accountant and was active in the Petroleum Accountants Society of Kansas.  Barbara was a member of St. James Episcopal Church.

She married the love of her life, Bill Potter, on September 3, 1975.  They lived life to the fullest - traveling, listening to live music, spending time with family and loving each other!  Bill preceded Barbara in death on January 19th, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Helen Boothe, step-mother Jane Boothe, brothers Sam and Byron Boothe, sister Sheryl Davison, stepdaughter Missy Parrish and great-nephew Charlie Futhey.

Survivors include son Joey Potter (Kimberly)  of Wichita, KS; son Brian Potter (Linda) of Cleveland, OH; brother Dan Sherman (Barbara) of Phoenix, AZ; nieces Stephanie Korol (Craig) of Wichita, KS; Stacey Boothe Crowdus (Erick) of Wichita, KS; Shea Boothe of Dallas,TX; and Sandy Futhey (Daryl), of Rose Hill, KS; stepson Mitch Young; 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, four great nieces; and three great nephews.  In addition, Barbara leaves behind many lifelong friends who were there for her everyday of her life and brought her so much joy!

A Memorial Service will be held on March 28th, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. James Episcopal Church at 3750 E. Douglas Ave, Wichita, KS.
