Barbara K. Brown, 79, of Wichita, KS passed away September 13, 2023. Barbara was born 17 November 1943 in Colwich, Kansas to AJ and Margaret in a house that used to sit on where the Colwich baseball diamond sits today which was the Schreiner homestead. She married J.D.(Earl) Brown 9 January 1960. They were married 62 years. Together they had four children  Sandy Schawe of Madison, Ks Julie Sowersby of Belle Plaine, Ks  Debbie Towell of Arlington and Jay David Brown of Eureka KS. She was a homemaker scout leader special education para for eight years while being a school bus driver before she spent 19 years at Walmart before her health forced her to retire. She had a stroke in 2013 but continued to work for 7 years which showed her tenacity for life.  She was dedicated to the things she cared about such as her young children, grandchildren, and friends.  Preceded in death by her father AJ and mother Marget Scheiner.  She has a brother Joe Schreiner of Las Vegas Nevada.  She was survived by her children  Sandy Schawe (Dennis Schawe), Julie Sowersby (Ronnie Sowersby) Debbie Towell (Dale Towell) Jay David Brown.   10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and her life long friend Deloris Blasi of Wichita who was there for her till the very end. Per Barbara's request at the end no public service will be held.
