It is with deep sorrow and great love that we announce the passing of Annie Lou Washington, a cherished soul whose kindness, strength, and faith touched all who knew her. Annie passed away peacefully on April 17th, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.

Born on December 20th, 1941, Annie Lou Washington grew up as the second oldest of 14 children. Known as a role model that shaped her life long values of family, togetherness, and compassion. She dedicated herself to many pursuits holding various jobs that displayed her talent, resilience, and unwavering work ethic. Above all, she devoted her life to serving her community and church, notably as president of the church mission department where her leadership and vision enriched countless lives.

She is preceded in death by her late husband Ivan Eugene Washington SR. She was also preceded in death by her parents Norman and Annise Haynes; and sister Louester Nesbitt.

She is survived by her beloved children daughter Vanita Ann Washington (Wichita, KS); son Ivan Eugene Washington Jr.- wife Lecah (Derby, KS);12 siblings); 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. Her legacy will live on within their hearts as well as in the memories of extended family; her many cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends.

Annie Lou Washington leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and faith. She will always be remembered as a source of light and inspiration.

A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, May 1st, 2025 at 10:00am. Service location is New Hope Missionary Baptist Church found at 1002 N. Ohio of Wichita, KS. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor Annie's memory, share stories, and cherish the impact she made on all of our lives.
