Annetta G. Amos                                     Obituary

On Saturday, May 20, 2024, Annetta Amos, loving mother of four sons, went to be with her Lord at the age of 95 after a long battle with dementia.

Annetta was born on July 1, 1928, in Wichita, KS to William Otto Bernhard and Ethel (Morris) Schmidt.  She graduated with honors from Wichita East High School.  On January 16, 1948, she married Orley M. Amos.  They raised four sons, Ronald, Richard, Randall, and Orley Jr. They lived in Wichita, KS.

Annetta had a passion for painting and singing.  She created many wonderful paintings and charcoal pictures. She loved listening to a variety of songs.  Some of her favorites were the songs from The Sound of Music.  She also sang in the church choir for a few years.

She spent her working years as a clerk typist working for several agencies in the federal government.  She held positions as a medical transcriptionist, flight time clerk, and release- of- information clerk.

Annetta was preceded in death by her husband, father, mother, siblings, (Bill, Earl, Louise, and Paul).  She is survived by sons, Ronald, Richard, Randall (Linda), Orley (Pamela), grandsons, granddaughters, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the Baker Funeral Home at 6100 E. Central in Wichita, KS, at 9:30 a.m.
