Adelia (Dee) Maude Maynard, 94, of Wichita, KS, went peacefully to be with Jesus on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, while she was at her Via Christi Assisted Living home. She was born June 8, 1929, in Arkansas City, KS, to Benjamin and Mina Malone. After Adelia graduated from High School, she went to beauty college, and shortly after met and married her sweetheart, Lemuel Maynard, on September 2, 1947, in Arkansas City, KS, and were married for 65 years. Lemuel preceded her in death on November 23, 2012. Together they had 7 children, David Maynard (Virginia in Heaven), Mike Maynard (Terri), Tonda Maynard-Sharp, Roxie Herrman (Harvey), Connie Jordan (Matthew), Vickie Fleming (Ed), and JR Maynard.  Adelia was also preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Mina Malone, and her eldest son, David Maynard, daughter, Tonda Maynard-Sharp, and three grandsons, Robert Herrman, Rocky Herrman, and Casey Maynard, granddaughter, Shiela, and two sisters, Pat Gage and Lorraine Rowe. Adelia was blessed with 19 Grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Adelia worked at Burlington Coat Factory from 1980 to 2000 (20 years) before she retired. She was a long-time member of Country Acres Baptist Church.
